How to calculate the cost of a restaurant POS
Compare software, add-ons, printers, processing fees and internet. Estimate a La Comanda budget using your actual requirements.
Compare operating costs, starting with the monthly bill.
1. Write down what happens in a shift
Count your locations, who takes orders, where food is prepared and how payment is collected. Identify each location’s needs: QR menus, kitchen, inventory, invoicing and online sales. Add-ons are selected per location.
2. Separate software from hardware and fees
List the monthly software fee, add-ons and additional invoices. Put one-time purchases such as a printer and tablet in a separate column. Reserve a third for variable costs: paper, internet, payment processing and delivery. Compare quotes with the same scope.
3. Test a complete order and close
During the 14-day trial, set up a table, take an order with modifiers, send it to the kitchen, split payment and close the shift. Test the printer before buying more hardware. The estimator covers software; add your hardware and provider quotes to complete the budget.
