Point of sale
Open a shift, take orders, charge them and close your register from a single screen.
The point of sale (/pos) is the screen for daily service: that is where you open your shift, take table or counter orders, send them to the kitchen, charge and close the register. It works on a computer, tablet or phone, and every device sees the same orders in real time.
This section covers:
- Opening a shift with a cash register and a starting count.
- Taking an order in Classic or Server view, with modifiers, notes and rounds.
- Charging a bill in cash, card, split payment or split bill, with tip and receipt.
- Closing a shift with a cash count and an explanation for any discrepancy.
