Initial setup
Review name, taxes, timezone, hours and your public menu design before the first service.
Updated on October 8, 2026
Settings live under Settings in the admin sidebar (/admin/settings). They are divided into sections: General, Hours, Tax & currency, Point of sale, Payments, Delivery, Invoicing, Public menu and Modules. Changes save on their own: at the top you will see Saving… and then Saved.
If you cannot find a setting, use Search settings… at the top of Settings and type what you are looking for, for example "tax" or "timezone".
General
Settings → General (/admin/settings/general) holds the restaurant's identity:
- Restaurant Name: appears on the public menu and on receipts.
- Public Menu URL: the address your customers open,
lacomanda.io/menu/your-restaurant. Only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens are allowed. - Timezone: defines where the day starts and ends for your reports and your shifts.
Further down, under Contact Information, enter Address, Phone and Email.
Tax & currency
In Settings → Tax & currency (/admin/settings/taxes):
- Choose the Currency and its Symbol.
- Select the Tax Type and the Tax Rate. For example, IVA at 16%.
- Decide whether Prices include tax. In Mexico, prices displayed to the public must include IVA, so this is normally on. The tax is broken out on receipts and on the invoice.
If you enable live electronic invoicing, the currency must remain MXN.
Hours
In Settings → Hours (/admin/settings/hours) you define the Operating Hours per day, in two columns: Dine-In and Online Ordering. If nothing is configured yet, press Set up hours to start from a base schedule; until one exists, the restaurant shows as open.
- Add shift adds another time block on the same day, for example lunch and dinner.
- Mark Closed on the days you do not open.
- If closing is earlier than opening, the schedule continues into the Next day.
- Under Special Dates you add closures or different hours on specific days with Add date: Closed all day or Custom hours, with a note such as "Christmas". They win over the weekly schedule.
The Open, Closed or Opens at… status is shown on the public menu, and outside the Online Ordering hours customers can browse the menu but not order.
Public menu
Settings → Public menu (/admin/settings/menu) holds the Menu design:
- Choose a template. There are twelve designs, from Aire to Bruma, each with its own typography, colors and layout. Press Preview to see it with your real products and Use this template to apply it.
- Upload your Logo. It is shown in the menu header.
- Upload a Cover photo. It is the large photo at the top of the menu; if you do not upload one, the template's own is used.
- Adjust the Accent color. It blends with the template without breaking its design; Reset returns to the original color.
Next steps
- Load your carte in Categories and products.
- Create your registers in Cash registers.
- Invite your team in Roles and team.
- If you are going to print tickets, continue with Install QZ Tray.
