Frequently asked questions

What restaurant owners ask before they start, price, trial, locations, commissions, hardware, online payments, AI Studio and switching from another system, answered straight.

Updated on October 9, 2026

The short answers to what gets asked before opening an account. The detail on each plan and module is in Plans and free trial; printer questions are in Compatible printers and internet, data and security ones in Data and security.

The product

What does the $149 MXN/month plan include?

The plan includes point of sale, tables, kitchen display, QR menus with table ordering, ticket printing, cash and shifts, tips, catalog, team permissions, and nine reports. Analysis reports and scheduled email delivery require Reportes Pro.

Are there different plans or tiers?

The base plan costs $149 MXN/month. You can add inventory, invoicing, reports, and online payment modules. Each additional location costs $99 MXN/month.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. You get 14 days free and we do not ask for a credit card to start. Set up your menu, your tables, and your team, and decide with the system already running. How it starts and what happens when it ends is in Create your restaurant.

Can I run several locations?

Yes. Manage several locations from one account. Each has its own menu, team, and settings. Additional locations cost $99 MXN/month each, plus any modules you activate for them.

Do I need training to use it?

No. Initial setup is guided step by step, and the interface is built so a new cashier understands the screen on their first shift. It is fully available in Spanish, or in English if your team prefers.

What devices can I use it on?

Any computer, tablet, or phone with a browser, with nothing to install. The only thing that requires a desktop computer is thermal receipt printing.

What hardware do I need to start?

A computer, tablet, or phone with a browser and internet. We do not sell hardware and we do not require a specific terminal: if you already have equipment that works, it works.

Do I need a special card terminal?

No. La Comanda records the card payment inside the order so your reconciliation balances; you still take the payment on your bank's terminal, the one you already have. If you use Mercado Pago, you can also send the charge from the point of sale to a Point Smart terminal and get the confirmation automatically; see Payments.

Pricing and subscription

Does La Comanda take a commission on my sales?

La Comanda does not take a percentage of your sales. Mercado Pago and delivery providers charge their own fees when you use their services.

How do I pay, and can I cancel?

It is billed monthly by card and you can cancel whenever you want from your dashboard, under Subscription → Manage billing. The 14-day trial requires no card.

What payment methods can I record?

Cash, card, and bank transfer, plus payments split across methods or across people. You can also split the bill by item and record tips, either direct or pooled. Step by step in Charge a bill.

Do you charge per terminal, per user, or per register?

No. Connect as many devices as you need and add your whole team at no extra cost. The price is per location, not per screen.

What is the offer for the first 50 restaurants?

The first 50 restaurants to subscribe pay $49 MXN/month for 3 months, then continue at the regular $149 MXN/month. It is the same complete product, with nothing cut out. If the offer is still available, you will see it under Subscription as Early adopter offer, with the spots left.

Online payments and delivery

What does the Online Payments and Delivery module include?

For an additional $49 MXN/month, your customers pay online with Mercado Pago straight from your menu, and you dispatch home delivery with an Uber Direct courier, without running your own fleet, or with your own couriers if you prefer. See Online orders & delivery.

Do QR orders from the table cost extra?

No. Ordering from the table by QR code is always included in the base plan. The optional module is for taking payment online and for home delivery. How to turn them on is in QR codes and table ordering.

Does Uber Direct delivery work in my city?

It depends on Uber Direct's coverage in your area. It is validated against your address when you turn on the module, with Verify coverage under Settings → Delivery, and if there is no coverage you can still use online orders for pickup at your location or deliver with your own couriers.

Who charges the fee on an online payment?

Mercado Pago charges its own processing fee, on its terms and straight into your account. La Comanda does not add any commission on top of that.

AI Studio

What is AI Studio?

You take a photo of your dish with your phone and AI turns it into a professional menu photo with studio lighting. No photographer and no shoot. It opens from each product with Enhance photo with AI or from AI Studio in the admin panel.

What does AI Studio cost?

There is no monthly fee. You start with 10 free credits and then get 3 free every month. If you need more, packs start at $49 MXN: those credits are a one-time purchase and never expire.

Can I use those photos outside La Comanda?

Yes. The photos you generate are yours and you can download them for social media, print, or delivery platforms. They stay saved in your gallery.

Switching from another system

I am coming from another system. Can I switch?

Yes, and the usual approach is to switch between services. Load your menu, add your team, and set up your tables during the 14-day trial, so the switch happens with the new system already prepared.

Can I load the menu I already have?

Yes. Download the template, fill in your products with their prices and categories, and upload them in bulk from the catalog with Import CSV. Then reorder them by dragging and add modifiers, combos, and recipes. Step by step in Categories and products.

Can I export my information?

Yes. You can download your order history, its line items, and its payments as CSV files you open in Excel or hand to your accountant, from Reports → Export history.

If I cancel, what happens to my data?

You can export your history before you leave. After cancellation your data is deleted in accordance with our retention policy, described in the Terms and Conditions. While the subscription is cancelled, access continues until the end of the paid period.
